Setting Up an Additional Repeater in Your Home Network – Here's How

Setting up an additional devolo repeater in your home network is quite simple. Essentially, you have two options available to you:

Setup at the push of a button via WPS

  1. First, place the additional repeater near the router and wait until the WiFi LED lights up green.
  2. Press the button on the new repeater to activate WPS.
  3. Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  4. Now you can place the repeater where your WiFi has been weak.

Setup via Home Network App

  1. First, place the additional repeater near the router and wait until the WiFi LED lights up green.
  2. Start the devolo Home Network App on your smartphone or tablet. The app automatically detects the new WiFi repeater and guides you through the setup process easily and straightforwardly.
  3. Follow the displayed steps and wait until both LEDs on the device light up green.
  4. Now you can place the repeater where your WiFi has been weak.

And done! You have successfully added a second repeater to your home network. The WiFi range should have increased again, and the internet coverage in the living area should be seamless.

Our tip: the devolo Home Network App also helps you with the ideal placement of your repeaters at home. If you have already laid Ethernet cables at home (or plan to do so), you can optionally operate a devolo repeater wired in Access Point mode. You can learn more about the benefits and steps in our linked guide on the topic.
