At devolo, we drive technical innovation forward every day. Protecting our environment must not be neglected in the process. With the packaging of our products and our company location in Aachen, we therefore focus on efficiency - and thus make our contribution to a shared, green future.

Our environmentally friendly packaging


We use new packaging for many products in our online shop and on digital marketplaces. The new packaging is 100% recyclable. An additional shipping carton is no longer necessary, helping us reduce packaging waste. In the future, we will continue to work on further reducing material usage. 

Refurbished products


In our german online shop, we offer refurbished items in addition to new products. Professionally refurbished, thoroughly tested, and technically in perfect condition, a devolo refurbished product is equivalent to a new device.

We ship climate-neutral


Purchases from the devolo webshop are delivered carbon-neutral, with any resulting emissions offset by our logistics partner through global projects. These include wind power projects in India and South America, as well as a biogas project in Vietnam.

As part of our strategy, we are gradually converting all printed materials in our packaging to 100% recycled paper.

Website hosting with 100% renewable energy


Operating websites consumes electricity. With our hosting partner, we ensure that the devolo websites are run on servers in Germany powered 100% by renewable energy.

Harnessing the power of the sun: our PV system


On the roof of our Aachen headquarters, we operate a PV system with a capacity of 60 kW. During peak times in the summer, it covers up to 50 percent of our local energy needs, with the remaining energy purchased as green electricity. So far, our PV system has helped us save over 224 tons of CO2 (as of November 2022). 

Our headquarters: DGNB Gold Certificate


Built in 2017, the devolo headquarters in Aachen has received DGNB Gold certification. The certification system of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) makes sustainable construction practical, measurable, and comparable. It evaluates the overall performance of a building based on a total of 37 criteria across six categories.

Our partners: thinking ahead together


Together with our partner Proximus, we have optimized our packaging: the installation instructions are now printed directly on the inside of the sleeve, and the box has been reduced in size. This saves 33% space on the transport pallet and allows us to pack almost twice as many adapters into the shipping cartons, depending on the product. This reduces transport costs and helps save CO2 emissions.
