The mesh update for your dLAN WiFi devices

Are you using Wi-Fi adapters from the dLAN 550, 1200 or WiFi Outdoor series? Then you can upgrade your network right now with the firmware update version 5.3 and take advantage of the benefits!

The firmware update provides the following six advantages for your dLAN WiFi network:

1. Benefit from improved mesh functions

Updating your adapters helps you optimise your mesh WiFi. For completely uninterrupted reception anywhere at home and even better performance.

2. Use the new Home Network app

- Enjoy intuitive operation and a perfect overview thanks to the optimised interface
- Use the pairing function to add new adapters easily
- Set up practical features such as guest Wi-Fi and timers with just one click

3. Additional features for your guest Wi-Fi

- Increase security using selectable encryption standards
- Assign custom passwords or QR codes with a single click
- Define a time window for the password validity.

4. Monitor your children's access to the web

devolo parental controls allow you to use MAC addresses to control the internet usage of individual devices. You can give a device a time limit or specific access times. This function makes the traditional Wi-Fi filter unnecessary.

5. Optimise your network for VDSL

This update lets you optimise the way your Powerline adapters interact in a VDSL environment.

6. Stay up to date all the time

This is the last update that you have to initiate manually. From this point on, your software will be kept up to date automatically and you'll never miss another improvement!

Magic customers do not have to take any action, because the update has already been implemented for Magic WiFi adapters. This means the adapters are already up to date and automatically benefit from all new functions.

How can I update my dLAN network?

To update, follow these steps:

Note: If you receive an error message ("Unknown error code") that the update failed, reset your adapters to factory defaults or remove the password prompt in the configuration.

1. Update your Cockpit

Press the "Update" button to prepare your Cockpit for the new software, or download the current Cockpit version here. The cockpit restarts after updating the software.

2. Load the most recent firmware update onto your adapters

As in the previous step, please click on "Updates" again in the cockpit menu. A dialog window opens in which firmware updates for your PLC devices are indicated. Confirm with a click on "Yes".

3. Download devolo's Home Network App

Install the Home Network app on your smartphone

4. Open the Home Network App

Your dLAN WiFi adapters are automatically recognized by the app. Now you can enjoy all the benefits of the new app and the most recent software version.

5. Stay up to date all the time

This is the last update that you have to initiate manually. From this point on, your software will be kept up to date automatically and you'll never miss another improvement!
