3 Tips to Make Your devolo Network Even Better

Thanks to devolo, you can already enjoy full WiFi at home? Our WiFi tips still have a few useful features and tricks up their sleeve. Here are three things you (might) not know about your devolo network.

1. Flexibly combinable: Magic Powerline and Repeater

A devolo home network is characterized not only by strong WiFi in every room but also by the possibilities of flexible design and expansion. For instance, if you already have a Powerline network in use but notice a last living area where the internet isn't working as you would like?

Sure: A Magic extension adapter is the simplest choice. If the WiFi needs to be extended to the neighboring room and there are no thick walls or other obstacles in the way, you can also easily close the annoying WiFi gap with a repeater and save some money in the process.

The great thing about it: Thanks to sophisticated mesh functionality, current WiFi 6 Repeaters 3000 and 5400 can be seamlessly integrated into a modern Powerline network (Magic 2 WiFi next or Magic 2 WiFi 6 next). Depending on your living and network situation, you can also freely decide whether to use a repeater wirelessly in the traditional way or alternatively also via cable . This brings us to our next tip.

2. Repeater in Access Point Mode

In normal operation (wireless), our repeaters capture the router's WiFi signal and extend it into more distant living areas. But did you know that there is a second mode for households that already have Ethernet cables or want to install them?

This is what makes the WiFi 6 Repeater 3000 and 5400 from devolo so wonderfully flexible: If an Ethernet cable runs from your router to a more distant room, you can connect a repeater here. In Access Point Mode , it simply converts the direct router signal into a WiFi network, providing all devices in the immediate vicinity with powerful WiFi.

And not only that: You could even use a repeater in AP mode to replace your router's outdated WiFi with modern WiFi 6. For more information and setup instructions, please refer to our guide on Access Point Mode.

3. Guest WiFi Made Easy

Do you have a spare room available to offer your guests for overnight stays? Not only can you equip it with fast WiFi using devolo products, regardless of the distance to the router; with the Home Network App from devolo, you also have a helpful companion tool that makes setting up and managing a guest WiFi incredibly convenient.

Simply activate the guest WiFi, set a WiFi name (SSID) and a password, and then share both with your guests. Or even easier: let friends and family scan the automatically generated QR code in the app. This way, your valued guests can connect to the WiFi in seconds and enjoy optimal reception even during long stays.
