devolo is presenting its OEM portfolio for Internet service providers, telecommunication providers and cable network operators at TV Connect 2013 in London. With WiFi Move, the PLC specialist is presenting a technology that enables comprehensive Wi-Fi networking throughout the home at the push of a button for the first time. The second focal point of the trade fair presence is hybrid TV. With the new SAT>IP-compatible dLAN® TV SAT Multituner, the portfolio is being expanded. For the first time, alongside set-top boxes, mobile devices can also access the TV programme via app.
devolo WiFi Move Technology guarantees the best Wi-Fi reception throughout the home
With WiFi Move Technology, devolo has developed a one-of-a-kind technology for the best possible Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home. Multiple ultra-compact Powerline-based Wi-Fi access points set up a building-wide Wi-Fi network, in which all wireless terminal devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops connect automatically to the access point with the strongest signal. In this way, UMTS network capacities are preserved and high bandwidths are guaranteed for all digital services. The WPS Clone Mode makes for a particularly easy set-up: At the touch of a button, data such as SSID and password are transferred from the Wi-Fi router to all dLAN® WiFi adapters.
OEM models PLC 500WiFi and PLC 500wireless+ support WiFi Move Technology and WPS Clone Mode
Two new OEM models from devolo support WiFi Move Technology and the WPS Clone Mode: PLC 500WiFi is conceived as a cost-effective Wi-Fi access point. Alongside support for the Wi-Fi N standard, it offers a network connection for cable-based devices. As a home networking centre, the PLC 500wireless+ provides three Ethernet ports and Wi-Fi N with internal antennas in MIMO arrangement. The adapter also has an integrated electrical socket with mains filter, which enables direct connection of terminal devices or power strips.
Extended hybrid TV portfolio: multi-tuner with SAT>IP support
The devolo dLAN® TV Sat OEM portfolio enables Internet service providers and telecommunications providers to attain cost-efficient implementation of hybrid TV solutions. In this way, IPTV services with VOD offers can also be offered in regions with low network expansion. With the dLAN® TV SAT Multituner, devolo‘s hybrid TV product line is expanded by adding a SAT>IP-compatible DVB-S2 dual tuner. In this way, end customers can receive two different television signals at the same time, or watch one live and record a second. If this is not sufficient, then an additional multi-tuner can be added, for a maximum of four channels received at the same time.
Mobile TV experience for smartphones, tablets and laptops via app
Mobility is a new trend in TV reception: with the support of the SAT>IP standard, the TV program can be viewed not only over a certified set-top box such as the dLAN® SAT to IP receiver; live streaming on a mobile device such as a smartphone or a tablet is also possible. For this purpose, there is a free-of-charge app for Android and iOS models available to end customers.
Comprehensive support of the remote maintenance protocol TR069
With comprehensive support of the TR069 protocol, devolo reduces the effort for support for its OEM products. TR069 enables a comprehensive remote error analysis for Internet service providers, right down to the PLC adapter. In addition, centrally controlled firmware updates can be run, in order to update already installed Powerline adapters at the end customer‘s location for new functions and services.
