The perfect home network: devolo dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N combines powerline and WLAN in one device
With the dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N, the Aachen-based powerline specialist devolo AG is presenting an innovative powerline adapter that ideally combines powerline and WLAN. The 3-in-1 adapter connect laptops and smart phones via the integrated WLAN access point according to the 802.11n standard, stationary devices are directly connected via the integrated network switch and can communicate via the powerline. Thanks to its compact housing with two integrated antennas, the dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N offers excellent WLAN reception throughout the home. As a result, the newest member of the devolo dLAN® 200 AV family is suitable for all areas in the home in which there are quite a lot of network-compatible devices, like the living room or home office.
With the dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N devolo, the technological leader in the powerline market, is presenting the perfect 'multimedia centre' for all rooms in the home in which there are multiple network-compatible devices. The 3-in-1 adapter ideally combines powerline, WLAN and LAN in one compact device. This way mobile devices like a laptop, web tablet or smart phone easily connect to the dLAN® home network via WLAN, while the desktop computer, network printer and NAS hard drive in your home office are connected via the classic network cable. The same applies for Internet TVs, Blu-ray players and game consoles in the living room. The integrated network switch makes it possible to connect up to three LAN devices directly.
Every electrical socket turns into a WLAN access point
devolo's dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N is ideal for establishing targeted WLAN zones in the home. With the option of simply plugging into any power outlet, the WLAN is right in the room where you need it. Interference from thick walls or ceilings are a thing of the past. The two integrated antennas with MIMO technology guarantee the best WLAN reception. Their special arrangement enables them to provide excellent transmission characteristics with the best possible signal coverage. The WLAN can easily be switched on or off by its own switch on the housing; a status LED informs you of its operating state. For optimal security, the WLAN module supports the WPA2 standard. Thanks to the WPS function, this can also be enabled at the touch of a button. Additional protection is offered by a time control, which activates the WLAN only at specific times, for example between 6 pm and 11:30 pm. This configuration can be made conveniently from your computer using a web browser. To connect LAN devices with a classic network cable, the dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N has an integrated network switch with 3 ports. For high security in the dLAN®, devolo relies on 128-bit AES encryption. This can be generated automatically by the encryption button on the device. Alternatively, a network key can be defined manually using the "dLAN® Cockpit" configuration software.
dLAN® technology for a perfect home network
The dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N was developed for private households and is ideal for use in (rented) flats as well as houses. With powerline technology, the power line is used like a long network cable; the powerline adapter can bridge cable lengths of 300 meters with high connection quality. While dLAN® enables transfer rates of up to 200 Mbps, WLAN devices communicate on the dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N at speeds up to 300 Mbps.
